Out and About

We love to get outside at General Day Nursery .We have two play areas dedicated to our 0-1s and 2-5 year olds. We have a Large outdoor play area for our 2-5 year olds and a separate quieter area attached to our ducklings room.

The large outdoor includes a Mud kitchen, a making sounds area, story tent, large grassed area, planting and growing area, woodland seating area , water and sand area , mark making area and a building/den area. We encourage the children to use their imaginations outside and we play out in all weathers, so don't forget to your wellies and rain coats!

In our baby garden  , it is sheltered so our babies can go outside in all weathers. There is a range toys in this area and the children play with sand and water here too. Our staff team also encourage lots of messy and sensory play to make the most of being outdoors.

As well as access to our amazing outdoor play areas, children of all ages enjoy regular trips out in the local area. Our older children go on regular trips to Parr Nursing Home home to visit the residents and see what the rest of the community is like. We also walk to our local library and use our new Kiddy cart to take the children out and about
